What sparks your evolution?
Going back to why I started dancing in the first place, reminding myself that I dance because it fills my heart with a childlike joy that I want to share. As an adult, growth looks different. Remembering that this is something that feeds you and doesn’t deplete you is why you should always try to make the space and ultimately shifting your mindset when training as an adult – being aware of your body, your capabilities, giving yourself grace. Stepping outside of my comfort zone, training in multiple styles, investing in technique, and allowing myself to be a beginner again helps my growth tremendously. Most importantly, I’ve evolved by embracing my individuality and understanding that my power as a dancer comes from how I connect to the movement, to others and to myself, not just how it looks.

What sparks your evolution?
We all know how important your facials are when performing. Arguably, the most memorable features on stage. What helped me as a dancer is creating a character and story with the music. This helps me connect with music or style of dance that doesn’t come naturally to me. It helps me digest the choreography easier, committing more to muscle memory. This allows me to put more energy in stage presence.
