Jazz 1 & 2
This class is perfect for those of you who are new to dance and have always wanted to get jazzy! For the first part of class, we warm up and learn jazz technique, and during the second half of class, we apply the techniques we learned in a choreographed combo. Learn different styles of jazz choreography, including character, street, and contemporary. Unleash your fierce, sassy self!
It’s time to get sassy and sweet with this beginner to intermediate level jazz class! In this class, we revisit basic jazz moves in our warm up and across the floor. We explore leaps, turns, and new challenges to test out in our choreography at the end of class. It is all about being your fiercest, most confident self when it comes to jazz!
Refine your jazz technique and learn jazz choreography in this high energy class! We begin the class with a warm up focused on strength and flexibility and then explore turns, leaps, and extensions in center exercises. In the second half of class, we put it all together in a choreographed combo that leaves you feeling challenged and inspired! Previous jazz dance experience is required for this class.
Push your skills and artistry in jazz technique in a fast-paced class designed to challenge and inspire! We begin the class with a warm up focused on strength and flexibility and explore advanced turns, leaps, extensions, and floor work in center exercises. Then we put it all together in a choreographed combo that promotes musicality, agility, precision, and artistry. Previous jazz dance experience and instructor approval are required for this advanced class.
BALLET 1 & 2
This ballet class is for beginners and those who want to explore ballet basics in a welcoming, judgment-free environment! This class guides you through different ballet positions, coordination, spatial awareness, and conditioning necessary for ballet. We learn beginning technique through warming up at the barre and then move to center to practice combinations designed to develop balance, alignment, and fluid movement. Ballet takes practice, and the more often you attend class, the more confident you will feel! Ballet is perfect for developing strong muscles, posture, and a sense of grounding and calm after every class.
This beginning ballet class is perfect for those who are new to dance but love a challenge or those who are rediscovering ballet after a hiatus. We explore different ballet positions, coordination, spatial awareness, and conditioning necessary for ballet. We learn technique and warm up at the barre and then move to center to practice combinations designed to develop balance, agility, stamina, and fluid movement.
BALLET 3 & 4
This class welcomes adults with former ballet training looking to hone their technique and skills. This intermediate class includes barre, center, and across the floor to give you opportunities to refine your technique, explore advanced movement, and explore your ballet artistry with turns, jumps, and leaps. Previous ballet experience is required for this class.
HIP HOP CLASSES
HIP HOP 1 & 2
In this beginning level class, we teach you the basic moves, grooves, and styles of Hip Hop including: House, Breaking, Urban, Popping, and more! Everyone has their own unique style, and we will encourage you to explore and embrace that in class. In our positive, welcoming environment, you will be able to step outside the box to bring your own groove and personality to the movement, thus becoming more confident in your individuality.
HIP HOP 3
Take your hip hop skills to the next level in this intermediate level class with some advanced steps. We explore all different styles of Hip Hop with a focus on community and culture in Hip Hop. Learn different styles including: House, Break Dance, Popping, Groove, and more! Classes will encourage members to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality into movements. Let’s go!
This tap class is designed for beginner tappers! In this class, you will learn the basic steps of tap dance. We teach the moves slowly and practice repetition until we nail it across the floor. Then, we apply what we have learned in a fun routine at the end of class. The point is to have fun while learning new skills!
This class is for beginner to intermediate tappers who have had experience in learning the basics of tap dance. We will keep you feeling challenged and inspired with a faster paced class learning new moves and choreography! At the beginning of class, we will warm up in the center and then learn new movements across the floor that will ultimately take us into exciting choreography at the end of class.
TAP 3 & 4
Do you already know the basics to tap dancing and feel confident to move to the next level? Jump into this intermediate class and learn fun choreography to rhythmic music while challenging your mind and your feet! At the beginning of class, we will warm up in the center and then learn new movements across the floor that will ultimately take us into energizing choreography at the end of class.
CONTEMPORARY 1 & 2
Toss aside those ballet shoes for this beginner contemporary class that blends modern, jazz, ballet, and hip hop movement. Enjoy expressing yourself by exploring fluid dance movements that develop your sense of coordination, balance, and agility. We’ll start with a warm up, learn contemporary technique, and then put it all together in creative choreography at the end of class. This class is perfect for those of you who are new to dance and have always wanted to explore soulful, personalized movement!
Ready to explore your creative side? Contemporary blends many styles of dance for an inventive dance experience that plays with modern, jazz, ballet, and hip hop movement. This class will strengthen your sense of coordination, balance, and agility through beginning technique with some intermediate steps. We’ll start with a warm up, practice technique, and then put it all together in choreography at the end of class. This class is a great fit for those with some dance experience or those who are returning to dance after a hiatus.
Take your contemporary skills up a notch in this intermediate level class with some advanced steps. The class includes warm-up, center work, and combos that give you opportunities to refine your technique and explore your personal style with turns, leaps, and floor work. Through exercises and choreography, you’ll be challenged to express yourself with agility, strength, and artistry. Previous contemporary or jazz dance experience is required for this class.
This advanced class blends multiple styles of movement as we refine contemporary technique and artistry through strength, musicality, flexibility, balance, and agility. The class includes warm-up, center work, and combos that challenge you to deepen your personal approach to contemporary choreography through turns, leaps, and floor work. You’ll be encouraged to be intentional, expressive, and vibrant. Instructor approval is required for this advanced class.
DANCE FITNESS CLASSES
This class is a great workout while having fun! It’s the perfect balance of the strengthening of Pilates, resilience of yoga, and the grace of ballet. The class is set to upbeat, motivating music with a unique total-body cardiovascular workout. Barre Fitness is great for those who do not like high impact workouts but still want all the benefits of HIIT training. We use weights, exercise balls, bands, mats, and blocks provided by the studio to maximize every workout!
BE BAD HIP HOP
Be Bad Hip Hop is everything you want it to be and more! Drop it down low to the hottest beats in this full-body cardio workout. No hip hop experience? No problem! Learn new moves through repetition and engaging choreography. Everybody and every BODY will leave this class feeling bold, beautiful, and badass!
MixxedFit® is a hip hop dance fitness program that incorporates dancing, toning, and booty shaking! In MixxedFit®, we work out to our favorite songs on the radio, and then we spice things up by adding boot camp inspired exercises to make our workout more effective and challenging! We aim to keep our choreography simple so we can focus on getting lost in the moves and music.
YOGA FOR DANCERS
Yoga for Dancers is tailored toward helping dance bodies maintain a healthy balance between strength and flexibility. This class looks and feels a lot like other yoga classes except we work postures in very specific ways to apply towards our dancing. In this Vinyasa style class, we enjoy fluid movements set to inspirational music, connecting our breath to every move. Alternately, we slow down to hold postures so that we can really explore alignment and strength. With our breath guiding us the whole way, we leave this class feeling a sense of deep satisfaction in the application of our mind + body + spirit connection.
Each Zumba® class is designed to bring people together to sweat it out! We take the “work” out of workout, mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you’ll see why Zumba® fitness classes are often called “exercise in disguise.” Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check and check.
Dance Lab is a class designed for intermediate to advanced dancers to explore new techniques and choreography with Impulse instructors and guest choreographers. A lab is a space for experimentation, inspiration, and opportunity, so each Dance Lab class focuses on a different style or technique of dance.
